This annual lecture lecture honors Stephen Schneider, an extremely influential scientist with extensive national and international recognition for his research, policy analyses, and outreach related to climate and climate change. Schneider's work focused on climate change science, integrated assessment of ecological and economic impacts of human-induced climate change, and identifying viable climate policies and technological solutions. Schneider was a Professor at Stanford and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He also authored many books on the concerns about climate change. The lecture is presented at the Fall Meeting by scientist for outstanding scientific accomplishments in global environmental change and communicating scientific results to the public.
