This session will focus on all aspects of mineral-based technologies related to carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and carbon management, covering topics such as: carbon mineralization through subsurface CO2 injection, carbon removal utilizing mine wastes, the release of metals or critical minerals during mineralization reactions, enhanced rock weathering and soil mineral additives, mineralogy of biochar, mineral-based ocean and coastal wetland alkalinity enhancement, and emerging carbon removal technologies across the land-air-ocean-society systems and continuum. We encourage abstract submissions from all sectors (academia, private, philanthropies, government, consortia, etc.) describing (1) new research results, (2) field demonstrations that could guide resource assessments, or (3) monitoring, measurement, reporting and verification (MMRV) methods that could inform carbon markets and transparent decision-making for governance frameworks from local to international scales.
