Addressing climate change requires a broad portfolio of solutions, and CO2 Capture, Transport, Utilization, and Storage (CTUS) technologies are expected to play a vital role in reducing global carbon emissions in the coming decades. Large-scale deployment of CTUS could enable the annual mitigation of hundreds of millions of tonnes of CO2, particularly from hard-to-abate sectors. Successful implementation of CTUS demands a multidisciplinary approach, involving geologists, surface and subsurface engineers, policymakers, economists, and data scientists. This session aims to showcase the latest technological advancements across the entire CTUS value chain and foster cross-sector collaboration. We invite contributions on all aspects of CTUS, including but not limited to: 1) CTUS demonstration projects and key lesson; 2) Field operations and infrastructure design related to CTUS; 3) Geological characterization, monitoring, and economic aspects of CTUS; 4) Uncertainty quantification and optimization of CTUS; 5) Numerical modeling and simulation; 6) Applications of AI in CTUS.
