Lightning and atmospheric electricity measurements are critical for identifying hazards to people and infrastructure, but their value extends far beyond detection. These data provide insight into convective intensity, severe weather forecasting, and are key triggers of natural wildfires, particularly in remote regions. Lightning and electrified clouds also play central roles in the Global Electric Circuit (GEC), linking the lower atmosphere to the ionosphere. This session invites research that explores novel applications of lightning data, especially those with potential to evolve into operational tools for hazard prediction or environmental monitoring. Additionally, we welcome contributions focused on Transient Luminous Events (TLE), including their observation, dependence on lightning sources and ELF/VLF signatures, meteorological drivers, upper atmospheric effects, ionization, magnetospheric interactions, acoustic waves, and chemical impacts. Studies that connect TLEs and lightning to broader atmospheric circulation, climate systems, and extreme event prediction are especially encouraged.
