The American West faces intensifying, multifactorial water challenges. This session explores innovative research on water measurement approaches, adaptive water management opportunities, and the role of water markets to enhance water resilience for agriculture and ecosystems in a changing environment. We welcome multi- and interdisciplinary contributions that combine hydrology, agroecosystem, water resources management, economics, and policy, including studies leveraging remote sensing, ag-tech, modeling, field studies, and/or institutional innovations to address regional water sustainability. The session aims to foster dialogue across scientific, practitioner, and policy communities to address complex water issues in an era of changing environmental and regulatory landscapes.
