Alluvial rivers and their adjacent floodplains form dynamic corridors that integrate hydrological, geomorphological, and ecological processes. These systems are increasingly impacted by climate change, land use shifts, and infrastructure, driving the need for new tools and frameworks to understand and manage their complexity. This session invites contributions that explore innovations in field methods, remote sensing, modeling (e.g., AI/ML, physics-informed models), and data integration to analyze river and floodplain dynamics across spatial and temporal scales. We welcome studies focused on sediment transport, channel-floodplain connectivity, hydro-ecological feedbacks, and river morphodynamics, as well as applied work informing river restoration, hazard mitigation, and water resource management. Submissions that span disciplinary boundaries or link observations with models are particularly encouraged. This session aims to foster dialogue among researchers advancing the science and management of alluvial and river corridor systems in diverse geographic and climatic contexts.
