Direct measurements of heat, water, greenhouse gases, and pollutants between the Earth’s surface and atmosphere enable transformative, scale-aware solutions for environmental stewardship, in particular when integrated with remote sensing (RS) observations. By uniting flux tower, RS, and process modeling communities, we can accelerate innovation and deliver tangible societal benefits, from local management actions to global policy. This session invites contributions that advance multi-sensor integration across spatial and temporal scales: (i) Flux attribution, scaling, and ground-truthing with RS; (ii) Cross-validation of RS, flux, and landscape observations; (iii) Advances in process-modeling, machine learning, and AI for integrating flux and RS data; (iv) Novel RS techniques (e.g., hyperspectral, thermal, lidar) in flux science; (v) Benchmark datasets, shared tools, and collaborative platforms.
We particularly welcome practical examples where approaches improve agricultural and forestry practices, promote nature-based solutions, account for carbon credits, manage urban heat, monitor industrial emissions, mitigate severe weather, and enhance air quality.
