Next-generation heliophysics missions demand bold innovations to explore energetic solar phenomena like flares, CMEs, and coronal heating. Achieving these goals requires overcoming significant engineering challenges—from pioneering instrument design to managing mission constraints.This session invites contributions that connect advanced science with the engineering needed to realize it. We welcome presentations on novel instruments and enabling technologies, including high-resolution imaging, spectroscopy, and polarimetry, as well as first-light results and future mission concepts.
We also seek insights from engineers and project managers on lessons learned from recent missions, especially how science requirements shape engineering decisions around cost, schedule, and risk. Discussions on best practices and strategies to bridge the gap between science and engineering are encouraged.
This session aims to foster dialogue that translates engineering experience into actionable guidance for scientists, paving the way for transformative discoveries in heliophysics.
