Humanity faces the grand challenge of providing sufficient, affordable, and nutritious food to a growing, increasingly affluent population - a challenge intensified by widespread malnutrition and planetary-scale changes in climate, biodiversity, and biogeochemical cycles. Meeting this challenge holistically requires navigating potentially competing priorities on environmental sustainability, economic viability, health, and social equity.To track progress and inform decision-making, there is a growing need for robust, scalable, and context-sensitive methods to monitor and measure food system outcomes. Advances in data collection, remote sensing, modeling, participatory research, and integrative frameworks are essential to capture dynamics of food production, supply chains, food environments, and consumption—along with their effects on livelihoods, natural resources, and human health. This session invites contributions that develop, test, and apply innovative tools, indicators, and methodologies to assess food system sustainability and resilience, explore synergies and trade-offs across sectors and scales, and inform transformative interventions aligned with global sustainability targets
