Planetary magnetospheres across the Solar System provide a unique opportunity to investigate fundamental plasma processes under a wide range of physical conditions. This session invites contributions that explore and compare key mechanisms across planetary magnetospheres, including (but not limited to) magnetotail dynamics, current systems, radiation belts, plasma waves, solar wind-magnetosphere interaction, and magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling. By examining both the similarities and distinctions among these systems, we aim to identify universal processes as well as unique drivers shaped by each planet’s environment. While presentations focused on individual planets—including Earth—are welcome, we especially encourage studies that leverage multi-mission observations, theory and modeling to explore magnetospheric processes from a comparative perspective and address broader, cross-planetary scientific questions.
