This session explores the interconnected advances in mineral and rock magnetism and environmental magnetism, emphasizing how fundamental magnetic properties and recording processes inform our understanding of Earth and planetary systems. We welcome contributions that investigate magnetic mineral behavior, from micromagnetic theory and remanence acquisition to grain size effects and mineral unmixing, and how these properties shape environmental signals in geologic, planetary, and biogeochemical archives. Studies integrating imaging, analytical innovations, and artificial intelligence are encouraged, as are multidisciplinary approaches combining magnetic data with geochemical, microbiological, and modeling constraints. By bridging scales from mineral physics to environmental processes, this session highlights how magnetic signals reveal past geomagnetic field variations, climate and environmental change, and modern pollution dynamics.
