Electrical methods, including electrical resistivity, induced polarization, self-potential, and electromagnetic induction, provide information on the physical properties of the subsurface and their spatial distribution. These methods have been widely used to characterize lithology, porosity, water content, and in monitoring applications of hydrological, remedial, and geochemical processes. New and novel applications have used electrical methods for mineral exploration, environmental monitoring, natural hazard assessment and engineering and infrastructure projects. This session explores the diverse applications of electrical geophysics, showcasing its versatility across various fields. To improve the understanding of near-surface processes, the challenges and opportunities in data acquisition, inversion, and interpretation will be highlighted. Presentations focusing on innovative applications and emerging trends such as machine learning (ML) applications, drone data acquisition, and multi-physics integration are welcome. Submissions from students and early career scientists are particularly encouraged.
