Solar energetic particles (SEPs) accelerated both at the Sun and in interplanetary space are an excellent observational tool to study the fundamental physics governing particle acceleration and transport in space plasmas. SEPs are typically energized in the corona within magnetic reconnection sites and at shocks driven by coronal mass ejections. Beyond the Sun, solar wind stream interaction regions create interplanetary shocks enabling further acceleration. The many sources, acceleration mechanisms, and transport processes, combine to form a complex energetic particle environment that is not entirely understood. As the Sun continues its peak activity, it provides excellent opportunities to study the spatiotemporal evolution of SEPs with multiple dedicated heliospheric observatories. Furthermore, new observations close to the Sun can challenge the current state of SEP theory and further advancements are necessary. This session welcomes presentations related to theoretical and observational investigations of SEPs from all sources spanning the full characteristic energy ranges.
