The intensifying effects of climate change and rapid urbanization have escalated public health risks, particularly from extreme heat, heatwaves, and urban heat islands. Vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected, with challenges further exacerbated by air pollution, strained health systems, and the lingering impacts of global crises. Earth observation technologies enable precise monitoring of climatic variables, predictive modeling, and assessments of temperature-driven health impacts. This session aims to explore innovative applications of these technologies, including machine learning and computational intelligence, to advance adaptive public health strategies and sustainable urban planning. Key focus areas include novel approaches such as green infrastructure, reflective materials, and optimized urban design for mitigating heat impacts. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across environmental science, public health, and urban planning, this session seeks to enhance resilience, equity, and preparedness in addressing the growing challenges of extreme heat and its impacts on global health outcomes.
