Asia is a major source region of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Changes in its emissions, air pollution and greenhouse gases not only affect regional environment and ecosystems tremendously, but also have worldwide consequences through long-range pollution transport, climate change and other mechanisms. Meanwhile, Asia is influenced by other regions. Under economic globalization, trade activities have connected global consumption and production with substantial inter-regional transfer of emissions and environmental burdens. Synergy between trade and atmospheric processes further means complex inter-regional connections in environmental and climate problems. This session will focus on Asian air pollution, greenhouse gases and emissions and its interactions with other regions. Abstracts on measurements, modeling, artificial intelligence, statistical approaches, empirical analyses, scenarios, and/or projections are welcomed.
