This session explores how informatics—the science of managing and using data—helps re-searchers solve complex problems and build resilient systems. Presentations will highlight creative ways to sustain data facilities, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that research tools remain reliable in times of uncertainty. Speakers will also share how new approaches in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analysis are improving our ability to study the environment, from tracking land use and vegetation change to detecting soil contaminants and understanding atmospheric patterns. Examples include using advanced algorithms to improve health monitoring, enhance scientific models, and translate satellite images into clearer in-sights. Together, these talks show how informatics connects people, data, and technology to drive discovery across science and society. The session invites discussion on how we can build stronger, smarter, and more sustainable data and research systems for the future.
