In the last decades, the field of tectonics and our understanding of plate processes has advanced due to the advent of new technologies, the use of machine learning and AI to rapidly interrogate large complex datasets, our observations of real-time events, and our increasingly broad approaches to understanding processes across a range of disciplines. Although many of the original questions posed in the 1960's have been solved, many new questions have arisen, and many parts of the Earth system remain poorly resolved and/or understood. This session will be a forum for presenting new advances and horizons in tectonics and discussing new and old issues. Our panel of invited experts will lead with presentations on a range of key topics, followed by an open discussion. Please join us for an exciting exploration into the frontiers of tectonics and tectonophysics and bring your questions to the table.
