Natural resources in coastal ecosystems require sustainable management and will benefit from coupling autonomous platforms, in-situ measurements, remote sensing with numerical modeling creating more detailed datasets for coastal environments than were previously unachievable. We invite submissions exploring various strategies for combining novel data collection methods with numerical model applications in coastal estuarine and riverine environments, addressing the following:

.Innovative in-situ monitoring systems to inform hydrodynamic, morphodynamic, hydrological and water quality models of coastal environments including coupled ocean-wave-atmosphere, sediment transport, ecosystem, and hydrological studies;

.Autonomous systems for coastal land/ocean monitoring and data collection guided by modeling and remote sensing;

.Remote sensing products to interpret data from satellites, land-based, or aerial systems in coastal waters, shorelines, rivers,or wetlands coupled with models and monitoring systems;

.Coupled modeling systems including operational or pre-operational forecast systems at near-coastal scales for circulation, water quality, habitat suitability, and ecological effects that use measurements for validation or assimilation.
