Landsat connects us all –linking national landscapes through public data that fuels informed decisions across critical sectors. This session explores how today’s Landsat missions uniquely complement private Earth observations efforts, support U.S. government agencies, and maximize return on investment for organizations through broad access. From energy development, mineral exploration to infrastructure, AI/ML, public safety, and national security, Landsat’s precise, long-term archive powers decisions that shape the country’s future. Presentations will showcase novel, operationally relevant uses of Landsat data addressing pressing national needs –whether in supporting secure resource management, improving response strategies, or enabling more efficient planning and analysis. These examples show how Landsat enhances operational efficiency and timely, cost-effective insights. Looking ahead, Landsat missions will deepen this impact, with new spectral bands and finer resolution unlocking even more targeted, actionable information. Presentations invited that spotlight both novel uses of Landsat and future applications made possible by the next Landsat missions.
