The Open Science Recognition Prize honors individuals or teams for outstanding contributions to advancing Open Science in Earth and space science, with global impact. Nominations are accepted from across the Earth and space science community.The prize recognizes efforts that advance Open Science through the creation or use of open data, software, and other open resources. Eligible work includes projects, datasets, tools, software, publications, and public outreach that promote Open Science.
As defined by UNESCO, Open Science aims to make scientific knowledge openly accessible and reusable for all, fostering collaboration and information sharing for the benefit of science and society. It also opens the scientific process to broader societal participation.
