NOLA CC
Primary Convener:Generic 'disconnected' Message
Kripa Akila Jagannathan, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division
This panel brings together New Orleans-based artists, artist-scientists, and creative catalysts working at the intersection of the arts and the geosciences. Each panelist will share a piece/artwork that they feel fosters connection in a way that fits AGU's theme of 'science connects us'. Panelists will also share lessons learned from projects that engage with climate, ecology, and the environment - highlighting how creative approaches can offer fresh insights into Earth and planetary research. Discussions will focus on themes of connections and confluences between the Mississippi river and the ocean (where different knowledges & ecosystems blend). Through stories of collaboration and experimentation, this panel will explore how art-science partnerships can expand how we communicate, connect, and care for our planet. The session will include time for audience Q&A and discussion to encourage shared learning and dialogue.
