The American climate and environmental data landscape is changing rapidly, requiring innovation to ensure critical data remain accessible to researchers, policymakers, and communities. Foundational datasets from federal agencies support everything from resilient infrastructure and public health to agricultural planning, energy forecasting, and climate innovation, while advancing our understanding of the complex Earth system. As climate risks intensify and demands for data-driven solutions grow, ensuring these datasets remain accessible, usable, and impactful for decades to come has become imperative. This panel examines how organizations are coordinating to address climate data preservation, access, and infrastructure challenges. We'll explore the rapid-response preservation efforts following systematic data vulnerabilities, examine current coalition-driven initiatives focused on data innovation, and outline pathways for designing a future climate data ecosystem strengthened across public and non-federal spaces—creating the resiliency and robustness needed to ensure data continuity, scientific integrity, and accessibility across past, present, and future perspectives.
