Do you work with data or code? Do you spend lots of time and effort on preparing your data and analysis, but it doesn’t get enough visibility? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to manage, publish, and share your data and code and get credit for them as important research outputs alongside your publication. We will introduce students and early career researchers to data and software management principles essential for preparing your research data and code for publication. We will cover practical skills for documenting and preserving your data and code in repositories, linking your data and software to your digital presence research publications, and advancing your career through open science practices. We’ll also share helpful tools and resources for working with data and software, including scripts in languages such as R and Python. With these skills, you can maximize your research efficiency, reproducibility, and transparency as well as provide mechanisms for data and code to be credited as research outputs beyond your peer-reviewed papers.
